Time for a Change

It's been a long while since my last blog, and I must admit this has been a busy season that I'm in.  I'm homeschooling my two girls, just finished leading a women's Bible study at my home based off of my book "Path of the Blessing:  Abraham, Isaac, Jacob" and I'm also responsible for heading up our children's department at our church.  Recently the Lord has turned my attention back to my blog and so here I sit writing as my kids are playing with our puppies, dirty dishes await my attention and curriculum is begging for my attention to teach.  I've decided it can all wait.

Change.  It's something I've been craving lately.  I'm not quite sure how it's all going to play out, but something needs to change.  So I'm starting with my blog.  I've noticed that in managing my statistics, I have way too many people clicking on my blog thinking that this is a porn site or a human trafficking website where they can find young raven-haired women that they can use and exploit.  You would be appalled at the key words that come through that lead people to my little blog.

 So as of today my blog is now called "Path of the Blessing" to keep everything that I'm about more simplified.

Over this last year I've been working on writing a weekly devotional and so keep myself blogging I'm going to post a few of those devotionals periodically.  As always I would love to hear from you!  So please don't hesitate to comment.

Surprise!

Dear Reader,

Yes, you have the right blog!  After using my last template for a year, I realized that some of the features it had were not working properly and I do not have the mind for re-writing computer code so I switched.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog in it's new sleek magazine style and thank you to all my readers for your support as I haven't been blogging lately, but now I'm back!

The Best "Blog" Ever

I love writing and reading blogs.  If you notice, there is a blog out there that can tackle just about every topic.  What is a blog really? –I get asked that question a lot from people when I tell them I write a blog.   And you know, when I think about it, I technically don’t know.  But what I do know is that a blog (for me) is a personal platform, a soapbox of sorts, to share whatever is on my mind.  Before all of this blogging on the web was introduced there was the newspaper and even older than that were letters written on papyrus from scribes taking notes from oral “bloggers.” 

When you think about it, the greatest “blog” out there is the Bible.  It covers every topic down to its very roots.  The author speaks from His heart what’s on His mind with the intention of challenging us to better ourselves by joining into relationship with Him.  He even gives us the opportunity to click on that “follow” button that you find on most blogs, giving us the choice to follow Him, God’s “blog.” 

Thank you God for being the author of the most challenging “blog” there is and ever will be.

It's hard to believe what started out as a personal Bible study has ended up in book form; God is so amazing!  I could never have accomplished this without His help every time I sat at my computer to write.

Thank you God for giving me the inspiration, the dedication and the wisdom.  Thank you for giving my husband and kids the patience and the flexibility of living 2 years with the house not quite kept up the way it used to be or the dinners not as fancy.

This has been a journey for all involved and it's only beginning.  I am working on publishing my Bible Study Workbook that will be able to be used alongside or alone the Path of the Blessing.  So keep watching to see what God does next!

The name Raven-Haired Girl came from a comment a friend made a few years ago.  -I got pooped on by crows twice within a few months!!  Once at the zoo on a field trip and once coming out of church!!  My friend said that the crows must love my raven-hair and somehow take it as a compliment! LOL! So that's where the blog name came from!

7. I dream about moving to a sunnier state (California to be exact)...just waiting on the Lord's timing.
