Maybe you grew up hearing that song, “Jesus loves me” as a child, or maybe this is the first time you’ve ever heard it. It’s so simple, yet it is one of the hardest truths for us to believe about ourselves.
I know for me, as I’ve gotten older, I can look back on some life choices I have made that weren’t what God intended and I know there’s been times that I’ve not only disappointed my parents, but God as well. How can Jesus love me after all the attitudes I’ve had or the thoughts I’ve thought, or even the things I’ve done? How can the God of the universe love someone as seemingly unimportant as me?
I still have a hard time comprehending the love of Jesus for me, yet my lack of comprehension doesn’t stop His unending love. The Bible says that God has lavished us with His love –that means that He is pouring out EXTRAVAGANT quantities of love.
Jesus loves you. There is no verse in the Bible that says Jesus only loves a certain people group, a certain nationality, a certain sex or race. He loves ALL of us and desires us to know His love for us.
God loves us so much, that He sent Jesus to come down into our earthly existence to become a sacrifice for the sin of the world –your sin and mine. He did this out of LOVE, no strings attached, just out of LOVE for His creation. God doesn’t expect anything in return. His LOVE is free.
Now it is up to you, are you going to receive the love of Jesus?
